Since 2010, Ben has worked for CompuBox as a Punchzone Operator.  During live HBO Boxing telecasts, Ben tracks punches using HBO’s PunchZone program, an animated feature that presents statistics about where on a boxer’s body the blows are landing.

Ben graduated from New York Law School in February 2010 and passed the New York Bar Exam. While at New York Law School, he served as President of the Asian American Law Students Association from 2009 – 2010.

Since 2007, Ben has worked at the Center for Family Representation (CFR).  CFR is a ground-breaking, non-profit law and policy organization that provides free legal and social work services to parents in crisis. During his time at CFR, Ben was promoted from paralegal to Assistant Manager for Operations and Data Administration.

Ben is the Co-Chair of the Asian American Bar Association of New York’s Student Outreach Committee.  He joined the Organization of Chinese Americans Long-Island/Queens Chapter in 2009.  Ben has also been a long time an alumni volunteer at the Pace University Center for Urban Education’s Upward Bound Program.  In 1999, the Center for Urban Education established the Ben Chan Award, which is annually bestowed upon the staff member or student that has contributed the most to the Center.

In 2000, Ben was awarded the Metropolitan Transit Authority Award for Bravery for coming to the aid of an MTA bus driver that was being physically assaulted.

Ben was born and raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.  He lived in the Mt. Eden neighborhood of the Bronx for two years and currently resides in Elmhurst, Queens.
